Delaware State Representative Ray Seigfried is a long-time resident of the Village of Arden.
First elected to the Delaware State House of Representatives in 2018 for District 7, Ray has spent his first year in office focusing on issues that impact Delawareans every day.
Ray has researched, written, and passed legislation to make healthcare more affordable in the First State, combat the opioid epidemic, bring equity-minded reform to our schools, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and expand access to care for Delaware’s seniors and veterans.
Before his election in 2018, Ray had an esteemed and extensive career in healthcare policy and systems management. Ray was a Senior Vice President of Administration at Christiana Care Health System for 26 years. During his leadership at Christiana, he received national recognition as a Bellwether League honoree for his innovation and excellence in supply chain management and from the Healthcare Advisory Board Academy Fellowship Program for his leadership in leading diverse teams.
Ray has also taught Healthcare Policy and Healthcare Administration as a professor at Arcadia University in the School of Global Business and published several articles on various healthcare topics.
Before being elected state representative, Ray was elected four times and served for eight years as Chairman of the Community Planning Committee of the Village of Arden.
He also served six years as a board member on the Wilmington HOPE Commission, working to break recidivism.
