I co-sponsored Senate Bill 25 to move the age of purchasing tobacco from 18 to 21 years of age.
Science has taught us that the younger a person begins to smoke tobacco, the greater their risk of cancer and other diseases becomes. Not only will this bill improve health outcomes, but it will also help slow the alarming resurgence of teen smoking brought on by e-cigarettes and other devices marketed towards our children.
We must protect our children and young adults from addiction, and I am proud to lead on this effort.
