When I ran for state representative in 2018, I ran on a platform centered on my professional experience and my passion for improving the quality of our communities.
After my first term in office representing District 7, I believe that my experience has made a difference in bringing people together to solve complicated problems and advancing progressive policies that help all Delawareans. My experience in health care delivered results with the passing of a bill I prime sponsored, HB 193, that has brought Delaware ACA health insurance premiums down by 20% in my first year.
I am proud of the progressive legislation my colleagues and I have written and fought for, bringing forward issues that have too long been unaddressed.
As a diverse team, we have changed and bettered our community through legislation on many different issues. Highlights include:
- HB 1, which amended our state constitution to include equal rights for women.
- SB 148, which established a consortium to identify recommendations on educational equity and improved outcomes in Wilmington and throughout New Castle County.
- HB 130, which eliminated plastic bags.
- SB 34, which implemented a new fee for opioid prescriptions.
During my first term, I have continued to keep in close contact with you and the roughly 22,000 residents of the 7th Representative District. With your support, I look forward to continuing those conversations and getting back to work for you in the 151st General Assembly.
